The incident occurred in New London County around 3 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, at the H&T Mini Mart at 1 Ocean Ave., New London.

New London police responded to the store on a report of a shooting, said Capt. Matthew Galante, of the New London Police.

Police on the scene located evidence supporting a shooting, but no victim who had been transported by a private car to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital, Galante said.

Galante said the victim, a 19-year-old, who was shot multiple times, was later transferred to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he is currently listed in critical condition.

The three men ran from the scene and are wanted for questioning.

Members of the department's Investigative Service Division are investigating and say the shooting does not appear to be a random act.
